SCCM features patch management, network protection, operating system deployment, remote control and various other services. It was formerly known as Systems Management Server (SMS) when it was originally released in 1994.
This was changed to SCCM in November 2007 and is sometimes known as ConfigMgr. Users of the suite can integrate with Microsoft InTune, which allows them to manage computers connected to a corporate or business network. SCCM allows users to manage computers running on macOS or Windows servers using Linux or Unix, and even mobile devices running on Android, Windows and iOS operating systems.
