The platform is created using the ABAP programming
language as its primary source, however also utilises C, C++ and Java.

This platform is the foundation for many of the SAP applications, and its server, commonly known as WebAS, runs on a run-time system that allows the system to control what work is performed, and when. All the mySAP Business solutions, including commonly used ones such as ERP and CRM, run on SAP WebAS.

Fundamentally it is used for analysis and monitoring purposes, but can even perform basic services such as emailing, faxing and CCMS. The versatile platform can also work alongside other technologies such as IBM WebSphere, Java EE, .NET and Microsoft.

SAP NetWeaver is particularly useful tool for those in consultancy roles, and is used by countless IT professionals and market-leading businesses.
