MCSE is short for Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. An MCSE is someone that has the necessary qualifications in the Microsoft Windows NT and 2000 operating system, as well as the networking and related desktop systems and Microsoft’s BackOffice server products to be classified with the title. They may sometimes be referred to as an MCSA, which stands for Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate.

Qualified MCSEs would have taken several courses with a certified training company or alternatively trained through self-study on the Microsoft website; at the end of their study, and on receipt of their certificates, students will be classed as an MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional).

Whilst this qualification is not necessary to be accepted for every role within the IT industry, it can be particularly beneficial for your application by showing your willingness to learn relevant knowledge and could be particularly useful for specific roles that require the use of these skills.

The MCSE program is a very popular training module in comparison to other courses, such as Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) or Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), for example.
