It is an object-oriented, adding new language features to the C programming language. It uses flow control statements, primitive types and syntax from the original C language and develops syntax of its own to distinguish classes and methods.
It was first developed in the 1980s by Stepstone, and was utilised within
some of the first operating systems. The ObjC was a popular language,
particularly within NeXT computers, and extensions allow it to be exported in a number of different source formats.
Those within engineering and developer roles will be aware of, and will use, this programming language within their work.
