Current mainframes in IBM’s line of business computers are developments of the basic design of the IBM System/360.Today’s systems are part of the z series family and the different processors on these IBM mainframes include; a central processor, an intergrated facility for linux, intergrated coupling facility, and a system assist processor. There are other processors limited to certain runs.
