CCNA stands for Cisco Certified Network Associate and refers to a category of
technical certifications offered by Cisco for those who are in the early stages
of a networking career.
It is the second stage of accreditation offered by
Cisco, one level above Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) and one step below Cisco Certified Network Professionals (CCNP). The programme was redesigned in 2013 to include certification within subspecialties that are related to networking.
CCNA certificates are available in ten areas, namely cloud, collaboration, cybersecurity operations, data centre, design, industrial, routing and switching, security, service provider and wireless.
