Business Analysis refers to the research-based discipline that identifies the needs of a business and subsequently devises solutions to its issues. Solutions can be achieved from a range of elements, such as process improvements, changes in the structure of the organisation, strategic plans or software systems.
Business Analysis involves reviewing the business systems, from staff structures to IT systems, and identifying areas for improvement to subsequently create plans and allocate tasks to improve the organisation.
The job role that carries out Business Analysis is referred to as a Business Analyst (BA). Although, some managerial roles may require the professional to complete some, or all, analytical tasks.
