There are four types of artificial intelligence: reactive machines, limited memory, theory of mind and self-awareness.
Reactive Machines: The most basic form of AI – machines that are basic and do not store memories. It acts directly on/for what it sees.
Limited Memory: This is an AI system that can retain data for a short period of time and can use past experience and ‘memories’ to inform future decisions.
Theory of Mind: AI systems that should be able to interact on a social level and have an understanding of people’s emotions, thoughts and expectations.
Self-Awareness: What many would call science fiction. A sentient AI system with its own conscious and self-awareness.
