Job Description

A brand-new role just opened with a great client in Dublin. My client is looking for an experienced Zos Administrator to join their team for a 6-month contract.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of systems programming experience on the zSeries (Mainframe) platform supporting z/OS.
  • Recent z/OS migration experience including from version 1.13 to version 2.1.
  • In depth working knowledge of the capabilities and use of z/OS installation and customization in a parallel sysplex environment.
  • Exposure to other zSeries platform components including hands on technical experience supporting CICS, DB2, IMS and MQ.
  • Thorough working knowledge and experience in the use of IBM s SMP/E product
  • Strong SA z/OS, TCPIP and USS skills required
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be able to multi-task and work under short deadlines and in high pressure situation
  • Highly Desirable Skills:
  • Peformance & Capacity :-
  • Experience of any of the mainframe performance tools such as RMF, SAS/MXG, Omegamon, APA, TDS or similar
  • Understand performance aspects of mainframe hardware components and how to optimise these (CPU, Memory and I/O)
  • Mainframe Storage :-
  • Hardware -DASD, IBM DS8000, Oracle Virtual Storage Manager (VSM6)
  • Software – DFHSM, DFSMS, DFDSS, RMM, etc
