Job Description

Dublin City Centre Financial Services client requires a Workforce Manager for a 12 month contract with excellent people skills.

Job Responsibilities

The Manager will be hands-on overseeing the welfare, development and performance management of individuals.  There are approximately 25 people that are primarily permanent staff with some individual contract staff having a variety of IT technical skills and experience.

Additionally, the role will contribute to the general people-needs from a team perspective for the likes of:

  • Contributing to people strategy
  • Managing individuals 1:1s, objective setting and performance management
  • Development and maintenance of people-related team KPIs
  • Succession and promotions management and planning
  • Team capability, capacity, resourcing, skills and training management and planning
  • General team wellbeing initiatives and communications
  • Maintaining relationships with other Divisions and centralised HR function
  • Recruitment of Permanent and Contract staff
  • Maintaining relationships with Contract staff recruitment consultants
  • Owning and managing any internal audit activities related to Workforce management in general
  • Owning and managing any operational risk activities related to Workforce management in general, including business continuity planning

Experience Required

  • IT Management experience ideally in Applications Development and in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Recent experience in hands-on People Management with proven excellent people management skills
  • Experience with setting personal objectives and doing performance appraisals
  • Experience of recruiting both permanent and contract staff
  • Planning, organising, and controlling people resources, and providing solutions for resource conflicts.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring IT staff
  • Experience in working collaboratively to build and maintain trusted working relationships with senior stakeholders and internal Leadership teams
  • Some general technical knowledge and competency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels from executive to team level.
  • An experienced Influencer
  • Some exposure to developing organisational strategies and plans
  • Understanding and experience of managing a team through a major organisational change programme

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Be a ‘People Person’ – have obvious interest in people and have excellent people skills
  • Proven management experience and capability
  • Have a background in IT in the context of credibly and capably giving feedback to technical people
