Job Description

Dublin City Centre Client requires an experienced UI Engineer to join its team on a permanent basis

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the front-end stack of Propylon’s web applications
  • Contribute to the advancement and adoption of modern best practice front-end development in Propylon
  • Working within the engineering team to develop best practice and repeatable processes and code for building and deployment of all front-end components within projects
  • Translation of UI designs and wireframes into fully functional, optimised web applications
  • Develop reusable front-end components across all web applications
  • Working with the core and server-side engineering teams to ensure optimal client – server performance

Experience Required

  • 6+ years of experience building web applications
  • Proficiency with front-end technologies: CSS3 (LESS or SASS), HTML5, Bootstrap
  • Advanced level of JavaScript programming experience including ES6 (+4 years production experience)
  • Working experience of frameworks such as Aurelia, AngularJS, React and other relevant JS libraries
  • Accustomed to using efficient workflows using build tools such as Webpack/Gulp/Grunt or equivalent
  • Excellent debugging, problem solving and fundamental programming skills
  • Familiarity with Test Driven Development practices and tools
  • Knowledge of continuous integration environments.
  • Experience working with NPM or Node.js.
  • Accustomed to software testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Protractor, Selenium
  • Working experience of Git workflows
  • Demonstrable experience developing cross platform and multi-device web applications

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Experience of document centric web applications
  • Working on enterprise level software products
  • Working with APIs in the development of REST applications

Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or related working experience as a dedicated front-end engineer
