My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a Technical Product Manager to join the team on a contract or perm basis.

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a Technical Product Manager to join the team on a contract or perm basis. The successful candidate should have a min of 10 years n the IT Sector, with 5+years of systems of software engineering experience with a focus on architecture and design. To be successful in this role you must have a passion for innovation, embracing new emerging technologies and always looking at ways to bring the product offering to the next level. You have a skill for uncovering what the customer really needs and mapping that to a technical solution. You are extremely creative and can work with UI/UX designers to design intuitive web user interfaces for our customers. You are detail oriented, you know how to plan work, how to communicate with the teams so they know what needs to be done. You can anticipate and remove blockers, you resolve dependencies and manage risks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into requirements.
  • Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, architects, quality assurance, UI/UX designers and stakeholders. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
  • Manage the software development process to deliver the project on time and with quality including:
    • Running our daily stand-ups. Following up to ensure blockers are resolved.
    • Preparing our Kanban stats and running operations meeting.
    • Ensuring continuous improvement action items are implemented.
    • Managing the product backlog.
    • Planning out work in Epics, User stories and tasks including test acceptance criteria and designs.
    • Estimating effort to deliver features.
  • Provide internal and customer training on how to use the product.
  • Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities.
  • Assess and address technical risks.
  • Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert.
  • Coordinate beta tests, trials and pilots and engage in pre-sales activities.
  • Coordinate product launches.
  • Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
  • Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and in general. Able to assess emerging products and companies to measure their potential value or threat to the company and its products, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage.
  • Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly.

Experience Required

  • Up to 10 years in the IT sector, with 5+ years of systems or software engineering experience with a focus on architecture and design.
  • Great knowledge of agile processes and ideally Kanban.
  • Track record of having product managed multiple successful products from product inception to release.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with customer focused teams to deliver real world technical solutions to meet business needs.
  • Excellent communicator, experience working with end customers, partners and internal teams to understand business requirements and map them to technical requirements.
  • Excellent documentation skills e.g. Technical specifications, user guides, material for product launch
  • Experience in web development and cloud technologies.

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Up to 10 years in the IT sector, with 5+ years of systems or software engineering experience with a focus on architecture and design.
  • Great knowledge of agile processes and ideally Kanban.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
