Job Description

My client is looking for a Systems Administrator to join them in their office in South Dublin.

About this role

They’re looking for an experienced professional that has exposure to networking and is comfortable with working in a Linux and Windows environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the current infrastructure
  • Monitoring servers across multiple data-centres
  • Configuration/Troubleshooting/Management of core Network infrastructure — CISCO Routing/Firewalls/Switches
  • Hardware/Software Support of Desktops, Servers, Laptops, IP Phones etc.
  • Administration of Microsoft Active Directory/Client Windows PC’s
  • Administration of Virtual Machine infrastructure and Linux (Red Hat) servers

Requirements / Qualifications for the role:

  • 3-5 years experience working in a technical environment.
  • CCNA qualification or in process of working towards same
  • Experienced in configuration of Cisco Routers/Firewalls, preferably with exposure to routing protocols (BGP or OSPF)
  • Configuration/Management of Windows Server (2008/2012) and/or Red Hat Linux
  • Excellent Troubleshooting skills

Preferred Skills and Qualifications, but not mandatory

  • Linux qualifications (RHCSA, RHCE etc.) a plus
  • Experience in Configuration Management Systems such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, CFEngine a plus
  • Exposure to virtualisation platforms such as VMWare ESX, Xen, KVM a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory or LDAP a plus
  • Experience in DNS management a plus
  • Exposure to Symantec Netbackup or similar backup infrastructure
