My Dublin City Centre based client is currently recruiting for a Systems Administrator to join the team on a perm basis.
My Dublin City Centre based client is currently recruiting for a Systems Administrator to join the team on a perm basis. The successful candidate will ensure the stable operation of the in house software systems and network connections. The role will involve planning, developing, installing configuring and maintaining / supporting all network software. The client operates an office based network running Windows Active Directory. It is 24/7 working environment.
Job Responsibilities
- You will manage & administrate all operating systems & their corresponding or associated software.
- You will manage communications & connection solutions, including local area networks, company website, intranet, & Internet applications.
- You will manage & ensure the integrity of host computers, multiple databases & data transfer.
- You will deploy & maintain firewalls, cryptography systems & all host security activities.
- You will oversee installation, configuration, maintenance & troubleshooting of end user desktops
- Office 365 & Teams administration
- Azure Portal – Active Directory, Storage Account management etc.
- Microsoft Active Directory – user/Machine accounts, permissions, access rights, DNS, DHCP, group policies etc
- Good experience of building & managing servers both physical & virtual, preferably HP.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP network protocol – ip addressing, subnet masking etc.
- You will install & configure internal messaging, phones & printer systems.
- You will design & implement disaster recovery plan for operating systems, databases, networks, servers, & software applications.
- Assess need for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required.
- You will interact & negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, & contractors to secure software products and services.
- You will practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory & related documentation & technical specifications information.
- You will administer & maintain end user accounts, permissions, & access rights.
- Perform network & security audits.
- Perform system backups
Experience Required
- A min of 3 years’ experience in system administration, networking, or related capacity
- Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices & laws.
- Working knowledge of network, PC & server platform operating systems.
- Good working knowledge of current systems software, protocols & standards, including Cisco & Microsoft VPN solutions, ftp, http, ssl & dns.
- Excellent knowledge of local area network administration.
- Hands-on software & hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Platform Monitoring Tools e.g., SolarWinds, Syslog, Netflow
- Familiar with network security software ie Nmap , Nessus, Wireshark
- Scripting experience – PowerShell
- Windows Server 2016+
Essential and Desirable Skills
- Good working knowledge of current systems software, protocols & standards, including Cisco & Microsoft VPN solutions, ftp, http, ssl & dns.
- Amazon AWS – preferable but any cloud experience desirable
Educational Requirements
- Certifications in Microsoft and Cisco preferred.
