My Dublin based client is recruiting for a Supply Chain Business Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. This role will be working on a hybrid model.

My Dublin based client is recruiting for a Supply Chain Business Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. This role will be working on a hybrid model. The Supply Chain will be the interface between the Supply Chain Management and suppliers to achieve business goals & objectives in availability, inventory and cost performance. The Supply Chain Business Manager will manage the suppliers in the areas of procurement, project management and operations and will work closely will the buyers, planner, logistics within SCM and will work cross functionally with other internal departments including R&D, product management and quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supply Management
  • Analyse purchase & supply plans to achieve availability, inventory & cost goals
  • You will own the supply & availability outlook for selected products and suppliers
  • Analyse demand & supply performance to maintain inventory at target level
  • You will work closely with the buyers to prioritise production schedule as needed
  • You will engage with suppliers to remove constraints in supply & attain high levels of shipment predictability
  • Communicate unavoidable exceptions professionally and in a timely manner
  • Cost management, tracking and reporting of PPV spend
  • Escalation management for commercial topics
  • Support Quality and R&D on product related issues pertaining to Supplier
  • Drive action with R&D to qualify alternate components or materials to ensure supply
  • You will manage product phase-in and phase-out scenario planning & scheduling
  • Management of excess and obsolete materials
  • Supplier Management
  • You will ensure ongoing supplier competitiveness and optimisation regarding Quality, Delivery and Cost performance:
  • You will drive the supplier management program for identified suppliers, leading the business review meetings
  • Represent the company to our external partners
  • Lead price negotiations with suppliers to reduce cost
  • Manage and negotiate contractual documents (NDA, LoA, amendments to contracts etc)
  • Develop, monitor, and report supplier performance using KPIs
  • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers as required
  • You will propose & implement supplier changes resulting in improvements to the supply chain network & overall business performance (rationalisation of supplier base, improved material cost position etc.)
  • You will prepare & conduct supplier business reviews
  • You will ensure supplier compliance to ESG requirements, including Code of Conduct
  • NPI
  • Active participation and representation of the SCM function in the New Product Introduction process.
  • Selection of appropriate supplier within current landscape
  • Proposal of new suppliers where deemed required e.g. qualification, selection, evaluation, development, classification etc.
  • RFQ preparation, analysis and cost down negotiation prior to award
  • Communication of Bill of Materials, drawings, test specifications, volumes to supplier
  • Project management with supplier & internal functions to ensure product is launched on time, completing all actions on the Supply Chain Management NPI checklist
  • Influence the design of product, packaging, logistics & warehousing for lowest landed cost & minimum environmental impact
  • Use project management methodologies to define, implement & track projects
  • Develop processes for Supply Chain to improve predictability
  • Utilize data analysis to improve supply chain performance, working with IT to define automated reports and onboard new applications
  • Participate in supplier, customer & internal audits
  • Maintain documentation with a view of continuous improvement
  • Build strong working relationships with R&D, Product Management, Finance
  • Monitor market conditions & trends in the component market

Experience Required

  • Minimum requirement of 5 years in a similar role in Operations, Supply Chain within a regulated environment
  • Supplier management experience in a global environment
  • Experience in the technical aspects of manufacturing & assembly processes
  • Experience in commercial business and negotiation
  • Effective communicative skills (both oral and written) for internal and external communications
  • Strong analytical, methodical and project management skills, PMP preferred
  • Continuous process improvement, Lean Six Sigma preferred
  • Working knowledge of quality and process management systems/processes

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Minimum requirement of 5 years in a similar role in Operations, Supply Chain within a regulated environment
  • Supplier management experience in a global environment

Educational Requirements

  • Third level Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, engineering or related field
