SQL Server/Oracle DBA

Responsibilities of the SQL Server DBA:

• Senior level Database Support Specialist working in the Middleware Services team.
• Specialising in SQL Server (Oracle experience also required)
• Role involves support of Database Technology and infrastructure for customers in Dublin and Europe.

The Person will ideally have:

• A third level IT qualification
• Primary Microsoft certifications (Oracle also of interest)
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• The ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong technical expertise in SQL and Oracle with an ability to make design decisions and to operate independently.
• The ability to take ownership of issues and responsibility for same
• Willingness to work out of hours on occasion
• Excellent trouble shooting skills and the ability to think outside the box
• DBA experience focusing on infrastructure support, installs, upgrades and troubleshooting
• SQL Server 2005 to 2014
• Oracle 8 to Oracle 12
• Demonstrated Windows Server 2003 to 2012 experience
• Demonstrated working knowledge of UNIX platforms HPUX, AIX, Linux
• Experience in deployment and daily use of Monitoring, Backup and Restore Enterprise level technologies
• HP & IBM Intel hardware
• Disaster Recovery planning and experience
