SQL Server DBA – Permanent

Overview

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a SQL Server DBA to join the team on a permanent basis. This role will involve supporting and maintaining database platforms in a 24/7 environment. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.

 Skills Required

• Experience with best practice implementation and on-going management of SQL Server 2016, Always On and Windows Clustering.
• Strong T-SQL scripting skills and ability to carry out SQL code reviews to assure accuracy & adherence to standards
• Experience in SSIS
• Solid understanding of advanced backup, index maintenance & integrity check configuration
• Sound knowledge of disaster recovery
• Strong skills in database optimisation, analysis and resolution of performance issues
• Excellent troubleshooting & technical problem resolution skills
• Prior experience of best practice change management and change implementation processes in high availability enterprise environments
• Experience implementing and working within a database CI/CD pipeline
• Solid knowledge and experience with common database monitoring software products
• Strong understanding of PowerShell to automate complex tasks
• Strong experience working with Database environments within 24/7/365 business

Nice to have

• Proven experience working on large databases
• Experience of SSRS and other reporting products
• Security experience with prior exposure to working in a PCI Compliant environment
