Solutions Architect

Job Responsibilities

• Leading cross functional/technical sessions to develop potential solutions for business needs or problems
• Proactively identify areas where IT can support business needs and goals.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements
• Working with business units and Enterprise Architecture to develop IT strategies and to improve the current IT landscape
• Working with 3rd party product and engineering teams to develop secure, robust & scalable solutions and products where your output is focused on Solution Assessments, HLDs and LLDs
• Designing, being cognisant of development cost, ongoing development in terms of skills requirements and operations
• Communicating effectively with stakeholders to develop solutions and achieve consensus
• Contributing to IT strategy, standards & governance including leading the Design Authority on projects
• Leading technology evaluations and becoming instrumental in guiding our technology goals
• Close collaboration with the Enterprise Architect

Experience Required

• 8+ years’ experience in multiple technology disciplines
• 6+ years’ experience in software development – with progressive experience from Software Developer to Solutions Architect
• Ability to conceptualise and translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions
• Strong working experience in understanding the cost of solutions both in development and ongoing maintenance and recommendations regarding choice of solution
• Experience working within Enterprise Architecture frameworks and standards (e.g., TOGAF) and being able to tailor the principles and collateral to suit.
• Strong Design knowledge, including API design principles, SOA and similar design techniques
• Experience at providing technical leadership to project resources to meet project deadlines and ensure business objectives are met
• Ability to build and sustain relationships that deliver results and effectively collaborative with diverse teams

Essential and Desirable Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
• Knowledge of EPOS, Order-, Merchandising- and financial systems and advantage
• Experience with different project management methodologies such as Waterfall, DevOps, Agile, Kanban

Educational Requirements

• Third Level degree within the IT field
