Solution Architect

The Solution Architect will have the knowledge and experience in architecture design, and relevant tools and methodologies. The jobholder will be instrumental in driving the transformation agenda within a retail bank.

The jobholder will need to have the following qualities:

• Confident and concise when talking to a large range of stakeholders.
• A good communicator, able to convey complex messages at the right level.
• Knowledgeable in design principles at data, application, interface and presentation layers, including the underlying infrastructure design (UML, TOGAF)
• Good understanding of core banking platforms and its key constituents
• Good understanding of non-functional design
• Understand Agile /DevOps ways of workings and the impact on large organisations.

• Experience in delivering Core Banking Transformations, specifically Temenos T24 implementations
• Solid knowledge of the following technologies (infrastructure design, RHL, JBOSS(most important), Clustering, Data platforms (MS, Oracle), Experian, Security Domain, DevOps tools
• Understanding of Cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and supporting technologies Amazon Web Service, Azure, Google Cloud, etc,
• Virtualization technologies (VMWare, MVS, xEN, Virtual Box, etc…)
• Lead and own the development and implementation of aligned architecture strategy, methods and standards for specific business areas.
• Accountable for the delivery of all aspects of the design and material decision making on these major architectural activities.
• Accountable for the identification, management and remediation of material design issues associated with these major architectural activities.
• Representing the design authority for technology decisions and leadership of the appropriate governance bodies.
