Job Description
My Financial Services client is recruiting for a Software Developer VB6 / C# in the heart of the City Centre.
About this role
Duties:
- Developing and maintaining the company’s in-house applications (mostly written in VB6, small number in C#)
- Liaising with Business users & accurately interpret the requirements for new or amended systems functionality
- Maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects;
- Learning about the business in order to understand the code logic of the in-house applications
- Developing and expanding an NET web admin application

- Design and code new systems in line with changing business and technical requirements
- Problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the business.
- Actively consulting colleagues concerning the maintenance and performance of software systems and asking questions to obtain information, clarify details and implement information;
- Test and release software in line with requirements
- Interface with external systems, ensuring compliance in terms of Security
- Being able to provide support to the business from an IT perspective
Technical Skills:
- Creating / updating windows forms and web pages applications
- Programming language: C#, VB6, javascript / jquery

Database:
- Progress: Sql query skills
- Microsoft SQL 2008: Sql queries skills + table creation + stored procedures
