Software Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Consulting with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.
• Directing software programming and documentation development.
• Analyzing information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of an existing system.
• Working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
• Consulting with departments or customers on project status and proposals.
• Designing and developing software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences.
• Preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status.
• Conferring with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities.
• Modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.

Experience Required

• 3+ years relevant experience in software development.
• Commercial experience using technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, REST API.

Essential and Desirable Skills

• Good understanding of relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience working with Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft IIS.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.
• Good understanding of Unit testing.
• Source/ Version Control experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other company departments positively to meet all company goals.
• Focused on quality and continuous improvement.
• Confidence and calm in interacting with senior audiences.
• Experience with JavaScript and it’s use within web pages desirable.
• Insurance Technology or FinTech industry experience desirable.
• Knowledge of Azure desirable.

Educational Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
