Job Description

Dublin West Client is looking for a Software Engineer with Customer Support Experience to join their team on a permanent basis

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the Single Point of Contact for troubleshooting technical issues in customer production systems
  • The engineer will be part of the customer facing Support team
  • Cooperate with Product, Delivery, Engineering teams
  • Support DBA teams
  • Assisting delivery of new product releases
  • Clearly describe technical content
  • Troubleshoot complex software solutions

Experience Required

  • Experience working on multi-threaded application
  • Professional knowledge of telecom OSS/BSS applications and associated protocols
  • Understanding of telecom networks and technologies
  • Experience in customer support and committed to delivering excellence
  • Proven track record of working in a customer facing support environment
  • Excellent communication skills and have a customer focused mindset

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in using different programming languages, such as Java, Python, Ruby, Shell, etc
  • Strong Unix/Linux experience
  • Hands on experience in Wireshark and application statistics analysis
  • Scripting using Shell, TCL, DCL, Perl, etc
  • Knowledge of RDBMS, NoSQL, XML, SOAP, REST, Diameter, and other TCP/IP protocols is strongly desirable
  • Experience developing solutions using tools such as IDEs, source code and deployment controls systems, automated build and test systems is also highly desirable

Educational Requirements

  • Relevant Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent degree
