My Dublin based client are looking for a Software Development Lead to assist in many key areas and projects.
This new role has primary responsibility for assisting the delivery of key IT programmes and projects. The person will be involved in all aspects of project delivery, from inception through to business as usual. The role holder will have an influence on the planning and direction of our SDLC.
-Guide and mentor team in driving innovation and applying best practice in the implementation of development solutions.
-Act as a role model for the team by always demonstrating the highest standards in technical design and development.
-Conduct quality reviews of our implementation to ensure they meet our high standards.
-Be central to the technical design and implementation of enterprise scale solutions across a broad platform stack.
-Drive continuous improvement in solution implementation and our delivery practices.
-Manage technical aspects of development teams to deliver full lifecycle enterprise solutions.
-Experience of delivering and owning micro services with strong integration knowledge (ESB, SOAP, REST).
-Excellent knowledge and experience of modern software development frameworks (Scrum/Kanban/Lean/XP).
-Previous experience of Atlassian toolset is an essential requirement – Confluence, JIRA, Zepher/TestRail.
-Familiar with modern engineering practises including User Stories, Velocity, Burn-down charts, Burn-up charts, Cycle Times, Cumulative Flow, Pair Programming, BDD, TDD.
-Familiar with concepts such as Design Patterns and OO programming.
-Experience in highly scalable, highly available platforms.
-5+ years broad technical experience as a software developer or technical lead.
-Demonstrable experience of leading and motivating a team.
-Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery & Automation.
-Exposure to Cloud services (AWS, Azure) would be advantageous.
-Previous experience as a software developer (eg Java, PL/SQL) in a prior role is a preference.
-Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
-Financial Services experience (Insurance or Banking) would be a distinct advantage.
-Proven ability to deal with stakeholders from all levels of the organisation.
-Experience of designing and implementing complex solutions in an enterprise environment.
