Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for an experienced Engineer to join the Site Reliability Engineering team. The successful candidate will work with the latest technologies on cutting edge projects. The successful candidate will be working closely with our software development teams to promote systems design patterns that continually improve the reliability of our software.

Duties / Skills and Experience

• The successful candidate will work within the Site Reliability team to engineer solutions to design, build, & maintain efficient systems.
• Optimizing existing systems and building infrastructure & eliminating work through automation.
• The successful candidate will support services before they go live phase through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms & frameworks, capacity planning & launch reviews.
• The successful candidate will maintain services once they are live by measuring & monitoring availability, latency & overall system health.
• The successful candidate will engage in & improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception & design, deployment, operation & refinement.
• A minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a similar role.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Good experience in a modern software language java, PHP, Go
• Exp in linux administration.
• Exp with automation and config management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc).
• Exp working with cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, GCE, etc).
• Exp with containerisation technology (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Some experience working in a scrum / agile framework would be an advantage.
