Senior Tableau Developer

My Dublin-based client is looking for a Senior Tableau Developer to join their expanding team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting time to join a growing organisation that offers challenging projects and plenty of career progression opportunities.

The successful candidate will develop, customise, and deliver the client’s product using Tableau. You will work across the whole SDLC and with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver and implement data visualisation and analytics projects to customers
• Provide solutions to improve user experience and performance of Tableau dashboards.
• Extract data from complex data warehouses and write SQL queries to bring data into Tableau
• Develop dashboards, data sources and extracts in Tableau
• Administer Tableau server, including server deployments and optimisation
• Test and resolve performance issues, as well as develop tools to automate tasks
• Automate server tasks using Tableau REST API and command-line tools
• Apply edits to Tableau XML to improve the development process
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams and stakeholders

Experience Required

• 5+ years of experience working as Tableau developer / Business Intelligence Developer
• Strong experience developing Tableau dashboards, data sources and data visualisation solutions
• Experience with Tableau server administration and architecture
• Excellent SQL experience, ideally working across multiple databases
• Experience across ETL, data warehouse, data preparation, data design, data modelling

• Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills
• Python scripting / automation – Desirable

Educational Requirements

• Third level degree in Data Science, Computer Science or another related discipline
