Financial Services client looking for an experienced Project Manager with strong Mainframe experience to join their team on a daily rate contract for an initial 6-12 month contract.
Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Manager specializing in Mainframe, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing mainframe projects within the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of critical mainframe initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Experience Required
- Project Management: Lead and manage mainframe projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to project timelines, scope, and budget.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
- Resource Management: Allocate and manage project resources, including team members and external contractors, to ensure project success.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues associated with mainframe projects and develop mitigation plans to address them.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce best practices for mainframe project management, ensuring the highest level of quality in project deliverables.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and provide regular financial reporting to stakeholders.
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and progress.
- Documentation: Create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and status reports.
- Change Management: Facilitate change management processes and ensure smooth transitions for mainframe-related changes within the organization.
Essential and Desirable Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager, with a strong focus on managing Mainframe projects.
- Excellent knowledge of Mainframe technologies and their applications in the financial services industry.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Experience working within the financial services sector is a plus.
