Job Description

Experienced Daily Rate Contract Project Manager Required for an initial 6 month contract with a leading Financial Services client in Dublin City Centre.

Duties:

  • Co-ordinate the team activities on a day to day basis, prioritise project requests and allocate appropriate resources
  • Manage general team activities required to support projects and day to day management of specific projects
  • Monitor all work in progress to ensure quality deliveries
  • Support the Senior Manager to establish standards & procedures for the team
  • Lead and control all stages of the project lifecycle from initiation, approval, design, delivery and realisation, complying with project methodologies throughout, thus complying with audit guidelines.
  • Identify and agree with the Client and Business Managers, appropriate solutions to deliver the benefits as defined.
  • Work closely with internal and external technical specialists to ensure that the business requirements are built into the technical solution. Oversee and perform business requirement gathering and analysis, and resolution of issues. Define requirements and ensure the end to end business solution meets the business needs. Facilitate walkthroughs of business solution
  • Representing the Dublin projects team at key forums relating to project prioritisation, release scheduling and change control
  • Communicate effectively on technical and non-technical issues with all internal and external interfaces.
  • Formally review the progress of allocated projects to ensure that actions taken align with the project plan, taking remedial action where required. Facilitate and run project definition workshops as required.
  • Control project spend, scope and report variances against agreed budget, and escalating where required.
  • Ensure that any loss events due to a failure of people, process, systems or externals influences including vendors are raised as risks.
  • Undertake specific development activity within the overall planned framework. This will include the production of strategic papers, business requirements; test strategy documents, implementation approach documents and training material.
  • Accountable for all Testing and/or Implementation stages of all allocated projects.  Manage the implementation process to ensure the full business benefits of all projects are delivered. Facilitate and run testing and implementation workshops, producing any project control documentation as required by the company’s Project Management Minimum Standards.
  • Strive to ensure that operational business interests are fully represented and protected on projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring that upgraded systems are fit for purpose, when implemented.
  • Manage cross functional project team members, through effective leadership, motivation and delegation, to ensure that project needs are met.
  • Regular reporting on project and team progress
  • Support the operations management team by attendance at key management meetings
  • Team development, responsible for coaching and development of all Dublin team members

Technical Competencies:

  • Proven track record of managing successful medium to large projects, including managing testing and implementations.
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience, leading a team through all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • An understanding of the project management process must be coupled with a detailed understanding of business analysis and testing techniques, communication approaches and methodologies for managing the implementation of change.
  • Experience within Transfer Agency (TA) or other related Financial Experience
  • Understand the theoretical and technical nature of Mutual and Hedge Fund administration functions.
  • Experience with equalisation / series of shares / limited partnerships / hurdle rates / performance fee structures also a distinct advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree, professional project certification, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
