Senior Project Manager (3 days per week)
My Dublin based financial client is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a business/ financial services focus to join their team on a contract basis.
Senior Business Project Manager
-Managing the development and maintenance of projects plans, scope and budgets as per defined standards.
-Provide end-to-end project management
-Scope project requirements and prepare budget
-Defining, planning and monitoring project requirements and deliverables to ensure delivery to time, cost and quality.
-Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure involvement, consensus and buy-in.
-Managing project risks, issues, dependencies and interfaces to ensure potential problems are identified and controlled.
-Leading, motivating and mentoring project managers and team members to deliver the objectives and solutions within agreed budgets and timescales.
-Leading the development and implementation of benefits realisation strategies and processes to ensure that expected business benefits are assigned, measured, and tracked.
-Leading the development and implementation of project closure activities to identify lessons learned, obtain sign-off of deliverables and assign remaining activities to applicable business areas.
-Deliver projects on time ensuring quality standards are met
-Ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
-Ensuring effective team member development.
-Keep exec sponsor & SMT up to date and informed
-Minimum of 5 years track record of delivering significant change projects in financial services industry
-Logical, analytical and investigative mind
-Ability to handle complex information with accuracy and strong attention to detail
-Ability to work well as a team member or independently
-Good organisational, time management and interpersonal skills
-Good report writing and other desktop skills
-Pragmatic and structured approach
-Leadership and people management skills
-Ability to listen, interpret, communicate with and influence stakeholders
-Experience of controlling and organising major and complex change and technology programmes/projects.
-Proven work experience as a Change programme/Senior project manager
-Strong knowledge of IT lifecycle, including familiarity with concepts, practices and procedures.
-Experience interacting with major stake-holders sand large suppliers.
-Experience operating within an outsourced model.
-Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interpret the audience and communicate accordingly.
-Financial Services Industry knowledge – Insurance industry an advantage
-Project Management qualification preferred e.g. Prince, PMP
-Hands on experience with project management software, like MS Project ,Visio, JIRA
