Job Description

Our Financial Services client is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their Strategic Change Delivery team on a permanent basis. The client offers an excellent salary and benefits package.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Drive projects, ensuring that project objectives are met within agreed quality, time, cost, and benefits metrics. Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • End-to-End Project Management: Manage all project activities, including business process redesign, system design and development, training, change management, communications, testing, business readiness and transition, rollout, handover, and support.
  • Project Timeliness: Manage and drive all aspects of a project from initiation through to operational support within the expected timeframe and budget. Ensure business readiness.
  • Single Point of Accountability: Provide a single point of accountability for all matters affecting the project and its progress.
  • Budget Management: Develop project budgets, monitor progress, and report against these budgets to the PMO Manager.
  • Change Management: Actively manage the project plan against milestones, benefits, KPIs, and handle any material changes to the project scope, considering business outcomes. Provide impact assessments for changes to project timings and scope, ensuring that change requests are managed according to defined processes and standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure controls and measures are in place to assure the quality of project deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Keep key stakeholders well-informed with accurate and timely information on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Provide impact assessments for changes to timings and scope within the project and ensure that change requests are managed according to defined processes and standards.
  • Ensure interdependencies with other projects are maintained, managed and properly co-ordinated so that rework or inefficiencies do not occur.
  • Champion the project approval process and the Project Delivery

Experience Required

  • 7+ years of experience in Project Management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects across a number of methodologies & the ability to manage projects into exec and CEO level with confidence, professionalism and the appropriate succinct level of detail
  • Experience of working in financial services would be an advantage.
  • Experience in vendor management & the ability to drive performance with cross functional teams, the business and external vendors to maximise efficient delivery and breakthrough inevitable conflicts.

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Excellent estimation, negotiation and planning skills and ability to dynamically replan and prioritise and bring the full team on the journey.
  • Exceptional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

Educational Requirements

  • Hold a degree or equivalent in IT, Computing or similar engineering / accounting / science, a relevant Project Management qualification (Prince II, PMI, Scrum) would be desirable.
