Job Description

Strategy & Planning Senior Manager required for Permanent role with Top Financial Services Company based in Dublin City Centre.

Responsibilities of the Strategy & Planning Senior Manager:

  • Participate in Strategy & Planning department management, development and training
  • Project Manage complex and/or multiple Strategy Agenda Initiatives (projects conducted to evaluate and review the fundamental choices we make about our business; e.g. what we do, where we participate and how we compete) consistent with a Value Based Management Strategy framework and using the S&P standards
  • Manage the delivery of the Strategy element of the Group’s annual Integrated Planning Process (IPP)
  • Lead the embedding and on-going application of the Internal Controls Framework within the department
  • Identify requirement for and manage production of ad-hoc reports, presentations and briefing papers for the CEO, ExCo and other key stakeholders
  • Represent Strategy & Planning on select Steering Groups for Management Agenda initiatives, as and when a requirement is identified by the Head of Strategy & Planning
  • Promote a culture of Value Based Management throughout the Group

Skills of the Strategy & Planning Senior Manager:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or other related field; MBA, Masters or professional qualification is an advantage
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience, e.g. top-tier Management Consulting firm, in a strategy focused role in industry, or a similar role within the Banking & Finance industry
  • Genuine passion for delivering high quality Strategy work and ambition to both learn and grow in the role, and to develop others
  • In depth understanding of and experience in applying Strategic concepts and frameworks
  • Advanced understanding of the key drivers of business performance within the retail banking sector and good knowledge of Risk Management and regulatory developments within Irish retail banking
  • Excellent written communication – experience structuring, writing and delivering presentations to the highest standard for a senior audience
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; ability to interact with and manage stakeholders at Senior Level and to deliver results through cross-functional teams
  • Excellent project management skills – ability to deliver multiple and complex projects in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively both in the team and across the business
  • Excellent Stakeholder management skills and ability to operate effectively at senior level and to interact with senior external stakeholders, e.g. regulator
  • Enjoys developing others and continuously improving performance of individuals and teams
  • Excellent research and analytical abilities, with good working knowledge of analytical tools and techniques
  • Strong command of MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • A good understanding of and experience in applying ‘Value-Based Management’ tools and framework
  • Excellent financial modelling skills
