Job Description

My Dublin based Financial Services client is looking for Senior Manager - IT project Delivery, to join their team on a permanent basis.

About the role:

This new Senior Management role has primary responsibility for delivery of our IT programmes and business change projects. The person will oversee all aspects of project delivery, from inception through to business as usual. The role holder will have a significant influence on the planning and direction of our project portfolio, with a major influencing role on how we work with our senior business colleagues and programme sponsors through the provision of through leadership and acting as an agent for change within the organisation

Key Responsibilities:

Own and drive the portfolio of Programmes and projects in terms of delivery time, cost, scope and quality.

Lead and manage a team of IT specialists with responsibility for:

Project Management

Business Analysis

IT Business Partnering

QA & Testing

Change Management

Business Readiness

  • Work with the CTO, Senior IT colleagues, and Project Sponsors to prioritise programmes, and the management of resources appropriate to project budgets.
  • Participate and contribute to the development of the company’s Business strategy and delivery plans.
  • Take an active part in articulating how IT will deliver against the strategic initiatives of the
  • organisation, and assist Senior IT Colleagues and Senior Business Sponsors to finalise business cases and achieve business benefits following project completion.
  • Invest in positive working relationships across all aspects of our business, and be a Thought Leader on getting projects right first time.
  • Participate as a senior stakeholder in our annual IT budgeting process.

Knowledge / Skills/ Competencies

  • 7+ years of proven portfolio/programme/large project management experience and/or business change programmes (ideally scale €5-10m annual capital spend).
  • Experience of Agile/SCRUM methodologies would be helpful, though not a prerequisite.
  • Relevant Third Level Qualification or MBA preferred.
  • Project Management Certification e.g. PMP, CAPM, PRINCE 2 or PMBOK.
