Senior Linux System Administrator

My Dublin-based client is recruiting for a Senior Linux System Administrator to join their expanding team on a permanent basis.

This role is perfect for a Linux specialist who also has some experience in DevOps tools, especially Ansible. The company have not yet transitioned fully to the cloud but they are looking for a Linux professional who will eventually support them on that journey.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage, resolve and respond to complex technical issues, including: hardware repairs, system servers, application integrations, and general end user support.
• Respond to end user issues by providing consultation, delivering training, coordinating Support teams, and formulating solutions.
• Analyse metrics and review ticketing queues to provide recommendations on how to improve efficiency and quality of the support function.
• Report on high visibility cases, critical incidents, escalations, and customer trends to the management team.

Experience Required

• 5+ years’ experience in Linux systems administration / network / service desk roles
• Must be highly skilled working in a Linux environment
• Strong IT Infrastructure background across IT systems, networks, security, etc.
• Some experience with DevOps tools, especially Ansible
• Experience acting as a Team Lead or Level 3 Engineer would be highly desirable

Educational Requirements

• Relevant IT certifications are desirable (ITIL, Azure, etc.)
