Job Description

Our Financial Services Client is looking for a Senior Information Systems Development Manger to join the team on a Permanent Basis.

The Senior Information Systems Development Manager will manage the delivery of all applications development , ensuring these applications are delivered to commercial standards in terms of quality, cost, time-scale and technology, whilst ensuring business needs are met. The purpose of the role include:

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that IS initiatives supporting business goals are delivered in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure the appropriate IS and systems capability is in place to allow the division deliver on its business goals
  • Represent the IS function and contribute to the management of the business as required
  • Define clear direction for IS development teams and identify future skill and capability needs
  • Lead and motivate a highly skilled, experienced and diverse team of IS professionals to ensure succession planning, development and retention of resources

Experience Required

  • IT leadership experience in an applications development environment
  • Proven financial management skills, having managed an annual spend of 2M+
  • Considerable previous experience working in Applications development environment
  • Strong people leadership and management skills
  • Proven experience working with Agile methodologies and frameworks, i.e. Scrum
  • Experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team of application development professionals
  • Ability to innovate and drive change in a controlled fashion keeping all stakeholders on-board
  • Following up and up-to-date on best practice standards

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • An ability to assess where a possible IS solution will require development on top of existing capabilities and the likely costs and time frame to complete
  • Strong architecture skills
  • Have good knowledge of the Group Pensions market
  • Understanding customer needs and requirements and how to deliver an excellent customer experience
  • The design and delivery of technology enabled programmes, through cross-functional projects

Educational Requirements

  • An IT degree or equivalent along with proven experience in project and programme management
