Role Description

My Dublin based client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Governance Specialist who will be an important part of their strategic business growth. In this position you will be joining a team responsible for strategy alignment, business planning, audit and risk management, compliance reporting, strategic supplier management, financial management and transformation.

The Senior Governance Specialist will be responsible for working with the People & Information directorate management team and business stakeholders to ensure delivery against governance commitments.

This is a cross functional role and requires an ability to collaborate with colleagues across the organisation and to generate consensus with key stakeholders across the function and the business.

The role reports through the Governance and Business Planning Lead within the Governance and Capability team.

Key Responsibilities

The role holder will be responsible for the following:

• Proactively deliver the day-to-day governance and compliance activities within the CPIO governance function;
• Support the annual business planning cycle and ensure functional business plans are tracked to meet the delivery of strategic priorities;
• Liaise with Group Finance and Group Procurement teams to coordinate financial management and procurement activities;
• Maintain the CPIO risk management framework in alignment with the group risk management framework; ensure risk mitigations are in place, monitored and reported across the CPIO organisation;
• Drive the rationalisation of the Applications portfolio; Maintain the Software Asset Management register and liaise with the business and CPIO stakeholders in the procurement of software
• Liaise with key stakeholders, internal and external audit bodies to proactively manage audits, and report observations and remediation activities;
• Review CPIO policies and procedures with senior stakeholders to ensure they are updated as per the review calendar; proactively identify and drive change improvements across the CPIO organisation where applicable
• Create monthly CPIO governance reporting packs, liaising with management and senior stakeholders to gather and capture information from across CPIO
• Deliver compliance reports including but not limited to; user access reviews, headcount, software asset management, time recording and applications portfolio; proactively identify process improvements and drive change improvements across the CPIO organisation where applicableConduct governance process reviews to identify gaps and/or improvement opportunities and driving the change;
• Identify and deliver change to the CPIO document management repository;
• Communicating effectively to functional and business stakeholders, via meetings, presentations and reports; and
• Providing guidance and expertise on a wide range of governance matters.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• University degree in computer science, computer engineering, technology management or other relevant degree;
• Demonstrated governance or PMO experience with the ability to challenge others appropriately in relation to governance matters, and influence others to accept proposed changes;
• Strong financial acumen with previous experience managing capex and opex budgets;
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, producing high quality work
• Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people;
• Ability to identify potential risks, gaps, issues and process improvements and deliver the change required in a complex environment; and
• Highly organised and demonstrates an ability to work both collectively and independently in a multi-task and multi-focus environment

Desirable

• A recognised project management qualification would be extremely beneficial e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK; and
• Experience working in an Agile environment and/or an understanding of Agile concepts would be an advantage;
