Senior Front End Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Full responsibility of the entire front-end process and pipeline for all UI work;
• Evaluate business requirements to determine potential solutions and work closely with UI/UX designers, project owners and stakeholders to develop thrilling UI experiences; and
• Provide support and advice for different teams (data engineering, AI, UI/UX) on UI development approaches.

Experience Required

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or similar;
• 5+ years of professional front-end web software development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript;
• Professional experience with at least one large-scale JavaScript framework: React, Angular, Vue or similar;
• Advanced CSS knowledge and experience styling custom and isolated components;
• Experience with charts, infographics and geospatial visualisations;
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Java or PHP;
• Experience consuming APIs to build data-driven UI;
• Experience using design systems and component libraries (e.g. material ui, IBM carbon etc);
• Testing (Unit/integration/visual) experience;
• Excellent communication (verbal, presentation, documentation) skills, working with teams that are geographically dispersed, to produce solutions that satisfy functional and non-functional requirements; and
• Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts.
