Job Description

My Dublin based client is currently looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their expanding team in a 6-9 month daily rate contract role.

About the role:

  • Generation of functional and technical specifications for application releases
  • Project manage system upgrades and releases
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new products and business initiatives including the generation of new processes and procedures
  • Provide day to day business analyst skills to the business as required, investigating issues, providing data, solving problems.
  • Assist with testing as required.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Strict adherence to the change management process, procedures and Prince2 methodologies
  • Development of functional and technical specifications as required in relation to software amendments pertaining to the business, within agreed timeframes in conjunction with business representatives and vendors.
  • Liaise with business representatives and software vendors to agree the content of releases and manage the implementation of each release.
  • Develop project plans and provide regular project reporting to management as required.
  • Develop and re-engineer procedures and processes as required in support of existing and new business initiatives.
  • Attend and lead change advisory board meetings as required and attend conference calls (including ones outside of standard business hours) as required to ensure the success of each release.
  • Work with the test team and developers to ensure suitable test cases are developed by the test team.
  • Assist with testing and reviewing of defects as required.
  • Develop a sound understanding of the company business model, processes, procedures and applications and actively contribute to improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Available to travel internationally, and work outside of normal business hours as required.
  • Participation at IDB level (global) as and when required.

Key Skill Areas:

  1. Business Knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis, systems implementation and project management gained within Banking or Finance preferably in support of savings and investment products in an online environment.
  • Experience with all aspects of online banking service delivery including online account opening forms, internet banking applications and back office processes.
  • Sound understanding of transactional systems, accounting principles and payment systems.
  1. Leadership Skills
  • Illustrates initiative and proactive behaviours, is a self motivate individual.
  • Highly efficient in co-ordinating and managing resources assigned to release activities
  1. Interpersonal Skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills (essential)
  • Able to develop a good working relationship with service providers and bank staff
  • Ability to build the confidence of 3rd party providers and bank staff in your ability to perform your role consistently, accurately and within agreed timeframes.
  1. Customer Focus
  • Proactively tries to understand customers needs and displays commitment towards meeting them.
  • Has a knowledge of customers expectations in relation to banking applications and online banking services.
  1. Technical and Specialist Skills
  • Prince2 project management certification.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel), Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visio and Quality Centre.
  • Business Objects reporting skills (preferred)
  • Ability to generate SQL queries (preferred)
  1. Planning and Organisation
  • Able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Is flexible in aligning personal objectives with team objectives.
  • Has recognised tertiary qualification in Business, Management or IT related discipline.
  • Has several years’ experience in senior business analysis and design and some project management experience
  • Has worked across relevant industries such as Finance and Banking and has a proven record in working with core banking applications
  • Has experience liaising with business representatives, developers and testers in clarifying functional requirements and resolving issues.
  • Proven track record demonstrating an ability to work effectively across multiple work streams.
