Job Responsibilities
- Become an expert with the clients (custom) online reporting tool for their customers;
- Play lead role onboarding the Irish business unit to the new global data and BI tooling;
- ETL/ELT (Matillion)
- Data Warehouse (Snowflake)
- Data Virtualisation (Denodo)
- Reporting/BI (Power BI, Tableau)
- Data Lineage (Collibra)
- Quality Assurance (Trillium)
- Ongoing maintenance, management, support of both the clients (custom) online reporting tool and new data/BI tooling;
- Migrate legacy reporting to the new tooling then decommission the legacy solutions;
- Work on an ongoing basis with internal teams to deliver BI solutions to complex business needs; and
- Drive BI maturity increase, potential to grow into a team with people management responsibility.
Experience Required
- Third-level degree, including a strong computing/mathematical/statistical element;
- Extensive experience harnessing operational/transactional relational databases for BI purposes;
- Extensive experience performing complex data analysis and report development;
- Proven experience with ETL/ELT tools (ideally Matillion);
- Proven experience of data warehousing concepts and tools (ideally Snowflake);
- Knowledge of data virtualisation concepts and tools (ideally Denodo);
- Extensive experience with data visualization tools (ideally Power BI, Tableau, BO, Qlik);
- Great core design skills, ability to establish visual hierarchy, layout, typography, colour;
- Knowledge of data lineage concepts and tools (ideally Collibra);
- Knowledge of data quality assurance tools (ideally Trillium);
- Aptitude to learn quickly and apply knowledge across different contexts;
- Highly motivated with strong work ethic;
- Proven ability to work in a self-directed manner to deliver projects;
- Proven ability to lead BI projects and small/ad hoc/project teams;
- Demonstrated interpersonal, influencing, collaboration and listening skills, including ability to interact with business colleagues in plain English, and IT colleagues in precise technical terms;
- Confidence to speak up when something can be done better or smarter;
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Experience working with Agile methods;
- Experience using Jira and Confluence; and
- Proficient in the Microsoft 365 suite.
