Job Description

Dublin City Centre Financial Services client requires a Senior Banking Platforms Delivery Manager for a permanent role with experience of Core Banking Systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Banking Platform Delivery Manager, Banking Platforms will ensure all Banking Platform projects are delivered as per agreed schedules, quality and costs.  They will manage the Banking Platform’s Delivery Teams including, software design, development and production support teams, ensuring that solutions are delivered in line with agreed architecture design.  The roleholder will be responsible for managing and controlling costs through innovation, automation and value add capability. They will develop and maintain an environment of innovation and continuous improvement, focusing on quality, cost reduction and process development.
  • The role will play a pivotal role in the Senior Leadership Team and motivate the team to perform at a high level in a challenging and fast moving environment. They will build and drive a culture and commitment to excellence in the delivery of solutions. Adapt and continuously adopt new ways of working and represent the Banking Platforms functions at various stakeholder meetings, steering’s.
  • The role holder will support workforce planning and shaping for the function including Near Shore Resourcing. They will maintain a strong network internally and externally to ensure our  strategy and operating model remains fully informed as to industry developments and Bank emerging needs.
  • Preparing high impact communications on the above for variety of audience including ExCo, Bank wide and local teams.
  • Job Requirements:

Experience Required:

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • A deep understanding and demonstrable Risk experience within the Financial services industry.
  • Strong ability to assess processes and identify/implement improvements.
  • Experience of working in fast-paced organisation and managing complex and fluid priorities.
  • Management of a Software Delivery team in the Financial Services Industry, preferably Banking.
  • Experience of operating at mid / senior management level across all levels and functions of a retail bank.
  • Strong focus and appreciation of continuous Integration, continuous delivery and automation.
  • Proficient building high-performance teams.
  • Understanding of current regulatory environment and Group impact.
  • Experience in  operating model review/enhancement and associated change management skills.

Essential and Desirable Skills:

  • Proven ability to deliver large projects across multiple workstreams and stakeholders within a core platform environment, preferably in the Banking Industry.
  • Technical acumen of banking systems, preferably mainframe built up over years of experience in industry.
  • Strong ability to create, insightfully interpret and challenge MI and reports.
  • Proven expertise in the design and development of executive level presentations.
  • Excellent knowledge of all MS Office programmes; in particular, excellent Word, Excel, and Powerpoint skills are required.
  • Management of relevant partner relationships in the business and suppliers/3rd parties.
  • Ability to develop strong external industry network and insights
  • Experience of working with senior Executives
  • Comprehensive understanding of Banking Operations, Technology and Processes.
  • Up to date understanding of the very best practices and process associated with core IT Banking Platforms and systems
  • Self-starter who has the ability to create networks around a large organisation.
  • Excellent Communications and presentation skills.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months in their current role prior to applying and have successfully passed probation.
