Job Description

Dublin City Centre Financial Services client requires a Senior Banking Platforms Capability Manager for a permanent role with experience of Core Banking Systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • This new exciting role is responsible for the development and modernisation of the Core Banking Platform’s to support the Connected Digital Bank Strategy while ensuring the bank’s core platforms consistently operate to the highest standard of deliverables and outcomes.
  • The Senior Capability Manager, Banking Platforms will oversee the future capability across all the banks core systems of record ensuring they are,  aligned, compliant, strategic, efficient, adaptable, evolving, relevant and resourced.
  • As this is a new role a key early deliverable will be the shaping of the role and relevance within the Banking Platform function. The role holder will be responsible for planning and executing the long-term vision of the Core Banking platforms: This includes establishing and evolving working methodologies and processes, identifying the bottlenecks and solving them, and using measurement and experimentation to improve delivery practices.

Experience Required:

  • At least 12 months in a current and relevant management role.
  • A proven technical career history built up over many years preferably working on mainframe systems.
  • Proven ability to manage large projects across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding / experience of Core Platforms, ideally operating in a highly regulated market such as Finance.
  • Experience and deep knowledge of Banking regulation cover the various pillars of risk, Financial, Non-Financial and Conduct.
  • Experience or exposure to thinking and innovation across Mainframe modernisation programmes.
  • Experience in operating model review/enhancement and associated change management skills
  • Excellent data gathering and analytical capability
  • Preparation of compelling communications material and report writing for Executive-level consumption
  • Experience of working in fast-paced organisation and managing complex and fluid priorities
  • Working knowledge and experience of retail banking operations
  • Track-record of working in a highly organised and ‘self-starting’ way
  • Experience of operating at a senior level across all levels and functions of a retail bank
  • Understanding of current regulatory environment and Group impact

Essential and Desirable Skills:

  • Strong focus and appreciation of continuous Integration, continuous delivery and automation.
  • Experience in operating model review/enhancement and associated change management skills.
  • Strong ability to create, insightfully interpret and challenge MI and reports
  • Proven IT Delivery experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Project management experience; in particular tracking and management of RAIDs
  • Proven expertise in the design and development of executive level presentations
  • Excellent knowledge of all MS Office programmes; in particular, excellent Word, Excel, and Powerpoint skills are required
  • Ability to develop strong external industry network and insights
  • Proven communication and influencing skills
  • Organisation and conflict resolution ability
  • Experience of working with Senior Executives
  • Sound business acumen and stakeholder management
  • Significant recruitment experience
  • Significant budget management experience
  • Significant Risk Management Experience

Educational Requirements:

  • University degree or diploma in related field or equivalent professional training and experience
