Security Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• To participate in the planning, design, enforcement and review of security policies and procedures which protect the integrity of and access to the clients’ systems, files, and data elements.
• To recognize and identify potential threats and areas where existing data security procedures require change, or where ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.
• To provide management with risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect customers, or corporate security objectives.
• To assess and recommend security services, products, as well as techniques to improve productivity and performance.

Experience Required

• One year of related experience.

Essential and Desirable Skills

• CISSP certification.
• Good working knowledge of TCP/IP.
• In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methods and technologies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with information technology professionals as well as senior management.
• Solid understanding of GDPR and other data protection laws.
• Experience using analytics as it relates to security.
• Working knowledge of Linux, MAC, Windows operating systems desirable.
• CEH, CISM, or GSEC certificates desirable.

Educational Requirements

• Third level degree in a related field.
