Security Engineer – CISSP

Role Responsibilities

Key Functions:

• Work with IT and Cloud Services teams to  improve data security.
• Participate in configuration control board reviews.
• Ensure systems are operated with existing security policies.
• Maintain and inspect corporate network security.
• Review network and system logs for changes.
• Maintain list of approved hardware and software.
• Review and recommend security technologies to protect company assets.
• Perform regular system reviews, including susceptibility scans against both on-site and cloud instances.
• Ensuring staff are aware of relevant threats.

Technical Knowledge:

• Experience with network and/or firewall infrastructure security monitoring and management including experience with syslog and/or security log analysis.
• Good working knowledge of OSI model.
• Hands-on experience with susceptibility scanning tools.
• Experience developing incident response procedures.
• Past work using virtualized IT infrastructures.
• Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure).
• Social engineering methods.
• Intrusion detection system integration and usage.

Education & Experience:

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
• 5 or more years information security experience.
• CISSP.
• Knowledge of Data Protection Laws such as GDPR.
