Scrum Master Job Description
As a Scrum Master you will lead one or more SCRUM teams contributing features and functionality to our Personal Cloud mobile applications and core services. You will be responsible for ensuring that the teams are high performing with respect to Agile/SCRUM guidelines and best practices in a scaled agile framework. You will also be called upon to be an active contributor to driving adoption and continuous improvement of Agile/SCRUM across the organization.
As a Scrum Master within the R&D organization you should be delivery focused and ensure that you together with your teams regularly exceed our customers’ expectations in terms of rolling out new features and functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead day to day execution of activities of one or more scrum teams
- Collaborate and coordinate with other SCRUM masters in a multiple agile team environment
- Facilitate technical discussions with Architects to resolve technical challenges the team encounters
- Facilitate daily standups with team, including stakeholders
- Facilitate sprint planning sessions and provide sprint commitment updates to Business
- Facilitate retrospective meetings and track actions to closure
- Work with Product Owner to prioritize product back log
- Assist development team and Business Analysts to refine product functionality and product back log user stories
- Radiate team communications and impediments to release and program level teams
- Communicate progress, raise risks or issues to Product Owner and Program Management as necessary
- Shield team from external influences not relevant to current sprint work
Required Experience
- Experience working with globally distributed teams
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where production releases occur in 6-8 week durations
- Ability to function as Scrum Master for multiple projects
- Ability to identify RISKS or ISSUES during the sprint and help the team in resolution of issues which impede progress.
- Good exposure on sizing techniques used in agile process viz. Story Points
- Ability to improve team maturity levels in understanding process and improving productivity in terms of velocity
- Ability to train or educate team on agile process
- Exposure in using Agile Life Cycle Management tools like JIRA or Rally
- Knowledge management tools such as Sharepoint, Confluence etc.
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years as a project manager in an application development environment.
- Experience in e-commerce and mobile application development
- Working knowledge of general mobile technologies, architecture and trends
- Cloud project experience
- Ability to mentor other scrum masters is a plus
Qualifications
- Good communicator with excellent planning and execution skills
- BS or MS in Computer Science or other related field
- Most recent 3+ years as a Scrum Master in an application development environment
- Must be a Certified Scrum Master
