Release Engineer

My Dublin based client is looking for a Release Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will manage the build, configuration and deployment aspects of the clients software delivery pipeline.

Job Responsibilities

The client is currently moving towards the containerisation and cloudification of their platform with many ambitions for total automation of environment build out, configuration and deployment.

The candidate will work in a crucial team responsible for the delivery of product across its entire lifecycle. The work load is challenging and requires a cross disciplinary skillset considering the demands of the team and the strong focus on DevOps and automation.

Experience Required

Working knowledge and experience of:

• Deployments into IIS and Windows Failover Cluster Servers;
• Container technologies and their platforms; Docker, Kubernetes, etc;
• .NET and .NET Core; and
• Scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.

Essential and Desirable Skills

• Build tools used by the .net stack; MSBuild (Visual Studio), dotnet, Nant, Psake, etc.;
• Cloud technologies; AWS, Azure, Cloudflare, Serverless, etc.;
• Application configuration management experience;
• Continuous Delivery tooling such as Azure DevOps, Bamboo, Octopus, etc;
• SQL Server, Oracle DB experience;
• Administrative and working experience with Version Control systems; SubVersion, Mercurial, GitHub, Perforce, etc;
• Administrative and working experience with Continuous Integration tooling such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Hudson, etc
• Project/team collaboration tool (ticketing systems); Mantis, JIRA, Bugzilla, etc;
• Proficiency in a second scripting/coding/querying language; c#, java, ruby, sql, etc;
• Environment configuration management tooling; PowerShell DSC, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc; and
• Package management systems such as NuGet and NPM.
