Job Description

Experienced Release / Configurations Engineer required for excellent Financial Services client in Dublin City. Permanent role.

Job Responsibilities:

This is a large enterprise environment currently in the process of extensive growth, change and innovation. Working in a wider technology environment of 100+, you will play a key role in change, innovation, automation, governance and release management, managing projects across software applications, infrastructure and production to ensure the highest level of release and environments management standards and processes are being implemented.

  • Work within our Release and Environments Management Team – Building Environments, automating release process and supporting multiple teams.
  • Work closely with the Development and QA Teams on all software builds/releases and environments support.
  • Functionally manage project and production environments in relation to software releases and software change management.
  • Liaise with multiple stakeholders, external vendors, to facilitate orderly roll out, testing and sign-off of software releases across complex suite of test environments.
  • Promote best practices of release and environments management – DevOps.

 

Experience Required:

  • 4+ years of experience as a release / configuration / build engineer.
  • Automation experience – Deployment automation, configuration management automation – using Python, Windows PowerShell, Unix shell scripting
  • Experience in Build tools including – XebiaLabs Subversion, Maven/Ant, Jenkins.
  • Experience setting up CI Test Frameworks – eg – Selenium.

 

Essential and Desirable Skills:

  • Strong exposure / experience on Continuous Integration (automated/manual) – Jenkins.
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (Waterfall, Scrum, TDD).
  • Application Lifecycle Management tools and process (Microsoft TFS, Jira, Serena Team Track, Serena Business Manager, etc.)
  • Exposure to Application Servers – Oracle Web logic (11g), IBM Web Sphere.
  • Testing Tools exposure – HP Quality Centre, Selenium, Load runner.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate with project team & stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact and influence various stakeholders in the delivery process.

 

Educational Requirements:

  • Third Level Qualification in Computer Science / IT or relevant work experience.

 

Working Hours:

  • Standard working week.
