QA Engineer (ISTQB)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Write detailed acceptance criteria, peer review (A/C)
• Hands on functional testing of core product function against requirements throughout the entire project life cycle
• Delivery of high level test schedules, test estimates, test cases and test data for assigned projects
• Responsibility for test execution and reporting to QA manager
• Bug management, incorporating triage meetings, status reporting, bug categorisation/prioritisation and issue escalation
• Assist in reporting, investigating and debugging software issues in coordination with support and development
• Provide support for production environment release validation and production bug troubleshooting
• Integration of product knowledge from testers, developers and product managers into the testing process
• Continuously contribute to improvement of the company’s quality processes and procedures

Key Requirements:

• Degree qualified with a minimum of 3 years experience in quality assurance, ideally in a financial services
• Candidate must have good experience of working within project teams on large test initiatives
• Must have experience of software development lifecycles and knowledge of QA principles and methodologies (Hybrid, Agile, Waterfall)
• Experience in the breadth of different types of testing such as:
  • oSystem Testing
  • oUser Acceptance Testing
  • oRegression Testing
  • oDisturbance Testing
  • oConformance Testing.
• ISTQB Certified Tester.
• Knowledge of Average, Soak and Stress performance testing.
• Experience of using Performance Test tools.
• Java skills.
• Databases & SQL skills including knowledge of software frameworks for distributed storage and distributed processing of very large data sets, e.g. Hadoop.
• All aspects of the System Test Life Cycle.
• UNIX or similar scripting.
