QA Engineer

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a QA Tester to join the team. This role is on a permanent basis.

Job Responsibilities

·         Write, review and execute comprehensive manual test plans and test cases

·         Mentor developers to improve their unit test skills to ensure high coverage and resilience

·         Own the testing of projects that you are involved in from requirements to production release

·         Participate in project meetings to ensure that testing is built into all projects from the start

·         Hire and mentor other members of the QA team

·         Contribute to automation where possible as automation opportunities arise

·         Develop API/service level tests, performance and load tests

Experience Required

·         Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland (European Union citizen or work visa holder)

·         Third level qualifications and 5+ years of related professional experience OR equivalent experience

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Extensive experience of web-based testing

·         First-rate  analytical, planning and organizational abilities

·         Experience of testing multi-tier systems; Database, App Servers, Web and Mobile Apps (iOS & Android)

·         Experience/understanding of working in an Agile environment

·         Unit testing, test-driven development and behaviour-driven development

·         Familiarity with Jira and TestRail for managing the Agile process and testing

·         Exposure to test automation tools such as Selenium RC or WebDriver

·         Familiarity with SQL

Essential and Desirable Skills

Nice to have with the following:

·         Exposure to Java/JEE, React, JavaScript, CSS and HTML an advantage

·         Experience of working on high traffic sites

·         Exposure to data privacy concepts i.e. GDPR

·         Product mindset; able to think beyond the product specs considering the larger implications, both technical and user-facing

·         ISTQB or other software testing certifications highly desirable

·         Experience of deployment tools like Docker, Ansible or CloudFormation

·         Experience with Amazon AWS

·         Knowledge and/or experience with teams employing User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games

Educational Requirements

• ISTQB or other software testing certifications highly desirable
