Job Description

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a QA Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. This role will be initially remote working.

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a QA Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. The QA Engineer will work within an agile environment to test software platforms and high quality software products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver feedback to key stakeholders in relation to test results and software quality.
  • Prepare and assist with documentation of system release notes, updates and overall QA of both the product and software.
  • Work with the development and technical teams to select and implement automation testing tools
  • Record and track defects, using approved defect tracking procedures, and work closely with developers and project manager to achieve the resolution of those defects.
  • Escalate and prioritise of any issues relating to test efforts as and when appropriate.
  • Contribute to all aspects of the systems Quality Assurance process for both new and existing functionality
  • Assist in managing QA test environments including DB test data and multiple versions of software releases.
  • From time to time you will be expected to help with customer support. Knowledge gained during test of features will give you the ability to adequately provide customer support in using those features.

Experience Required

  • Computer science related degree.
  • 1-3 years prior experience in a similar role in a QA environment would be an advantage.
  • js and/or Python.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Linux scripting e.g. bash
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience of use of automation tools and techniques a distinct advantage.
  • Experience performing smoke tests, soak test and stress tests.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP
  • Excellent problem solving ability.
  • This is an IoT platform so passion for working with gadgets and hardware is also desirable.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Good ability to communicate with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task across different projects, releases and work well in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and retain knowledge
  • Extremely thorough and good attention to detail.

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland
