Pricing Analyst

My South Dublin client is looking for a Pricing Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a brand-new role within the company.

My client is a Financial Services organisation with a great work culture that offers plenty of training opportunities for anyone who joins the team. This is reflected in the fact that many of their staff have stayed with them for many years throughout their career.

In this role, you will work on projects aimed at analysing data, looking for trends, finding data patterns, profiling business, and defining technical prices. You will work closely with the Actuary, operate the pricing software, and produce reports for the business.

Candidates must have a third level degree in a relevant field (Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics) and have some relevant work experience. Further training will be provided for the right person if needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Actuary to develop and refine product and pricing propositions across multiple product lines within the business.
• Assist with strategic business case analysis that will contribute to achieving profitability and growth for the business
• Provide technical pricing support and analysis, and assist with ad-hoc actuary investigations into adverse trends
• Assist with creating reports and present findings to senior management
• Implement, test, and validate pricing structures on quotation systems in a timely manner
• Maintain appropriate policies and documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging market trends to help target products & rates, and facilitate entry into new markets.

Experience Required

• Third level degree in a relevant field (Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics)
• 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Experience with programming & running reports in SQL, Python and/or R
• Experience working on predictive modelling techniques and machine learning code
• Familiarity with chain ladder method would be advantageous
• Experience working in Financial Services / Insurance would be highly desirable
