Job Description

Dublin City Centre Financial Services client requires a PMO Analyst for a 6 month contract.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the establishment of processes for project controlling for the Project Portfolio Management Office (PMO).
  • Manage, maintain and continuously improve the PMO reporting to the Programme Board / senior management for the whole of the portfolio of projects
  • Analyse the reporting and provide advice and direction to senior management on recommended actions to improve the overall portfolios situation, highlight critical risks and flag any issues or concerns
  • Maintain the portfolios risk register, based on Project Manager provided information
  • Work closely with Finance and IS Financial Management (ISFM) on the budget planning and ongoing cost management
  • Support Project Portfolio Management by:
    • provides portfolio report consolidation and distribution
    • monitors & reports on inter-project dependencies through the standard reporting
    • monitors, analyses & reports on portfolio performance trends
    • supports the maintenance of the resource pool in the Supply-Demand tool
    • reports portfolio information to the PMO manager
  • Support Portfolio level Cost Management by:
    • Manages and maintains the Portfolios budgeting structure to provide a framework for cost management
    • Sets up and maintains project charge codes and their structure
    • Reviews and comments on the cost-value reports for the portfolio.
    • Supports periodic portfolio reviews by gathering and pre-paring cost reviews and re-projections
    • Analyses and reports on portfolio invoices and expenses (non labour costs) for key suppliers (supplier management)
    • establishes and maintains enterprise project structures
    • establishes and maintains appropriate coding structures
  • Analyse and maintain the Portfolio Delivery Schedule by:
    • Analyses data from the Portfolio System and maintain the delivery schedule for the portfolio
    • Reports and escalates schedule variances and necessary corrective actions
  • Support and maintain the Portfolio risk management by:
    • Gathers risk planning data from the Portfolio System
    • Ensure standard reporting on portfolio risk is regularly reviewed and action taken as appropriate
  • Support the application of Project Management Methodologies and Best Practices by:
    • Manages and archives lessons learned from projects and key project metrics (for future estimation skills)
    • Monitors, tracks and reports on resultant corrective actions from lessons learned for the portfolio
  • Support the application of Project Management tools by:
    • Establishes and maintains standard templates for the whole portfolio
    • Ensures portfolio level reporting and documentation are organized and archived correctly.

Experience Required

  • Minimum PMO working experience of 2 years
  • Fluent in English and German (spoken and written)
  • Experience in project controlling and planning
  • Experience with financial and project planning tools and processes
  • Background in finance or project accounting
  • Financial Services Industry experience advantageous

Educational Requirements

  • 3rd level qualification, preferably in a related discipline.
