Job Description

Our client is currently recruiting a Payroll Manager position. This is a Permanent role with hybrid working after 1 month of service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accurate and timely management of three-monthly payrolls, ensuring all payroll tax obligations and compliance (e.g., ERR) are met.
  • Calculate adjustments for absences, bonuses, and deductions, and manage payroll-related schemes like pensions and tax-saver programmes.
  • Generate payroll documentation, such as salary certificates, and CSO reports, and handle payroll accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Train new staff on payroll processes, including expense claims and timesheet completion, while addressing any employee payroll queries.
  • Process employee expenses, perform daily bank postings, and conduct bank and accounts payable reconciliations, including invoice management and creditor communications.
  • Oversee credit card processing and reconciliations, and manage VAT returns, ensuring comprehensive oversight and efficiency in payroll operations and financial compliance.

Experience Required

  • At least 4 years’ experience in payroll management, compensation, benefits, or HR, including in-depth understanding of best practices.
  • Prior experience within Ireland, showcasing strong knowledge of local payroll legislation, PAYE/PRSI, pensions, and benefits in kind (BIK).
  • Demonstrated numerical and analytical abilities, with a track record of effectively researching, analysing, and clearly presenting data.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, such as Ceridian Dayforce or equivalent systems, is highly beneficial.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word and Excel, with a detail-oriented and analytical approach.
  • Experience in a finance/HR setting is preferred, along with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • An eye for detail accuracy, alongside the initiative to seek operational improvements and strong problem-solving skills.

Educational Requirements

  • IPASS, ATI or similar qualification.
